Market traders in America have claimed that Moyes, just nine months after taking the job, is set for the Old Trafford exit.

However, Moyes’ position is understood – at this stage – to be safe.

Bookmakers Betfair have slashed the odds into 5/4 for the Scot to leave before the end of the season.

CLAIMS: Head of FX Miles Eakers posted this this morning [.]

Eakers is the head of FX and runs SAVI Trading, the proprietary trading company.

United are baffled by the reports. The club have always made it clear that Moyes will be given time to prove that he is the right man to maintain the success delivered by predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson.

United crashed to a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Olympiakos last night and Moyes said: “I take responsibility.

“It’s my team and I always front up.

“It was a really poor performance. We never really got going and we didn’t deserve anything.”
