Shares of Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG) closed the day in after hours down $20 to close at $419.00. Intuitive said fourth-quarter net income was $166.2 million, or $4.28 a share, down from the $174.9 million, or $4.25 a share from a year ago.
Revenue for the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company was $576.2 million against last year’s $609.3 million. Analysts polled by FactSet, however, had braced themselves for lower numbers, forecasting earnings of $3.86 a share on sales of $558 million.
