The Top Performing Stocks Of 2015

Below is a list of the top performing stocks in the Russell 3,000 year-to-date. Of the 3,000 stocks in the index, 18 are up more than 100%. The best performer in the index is Retrophin (RTRX), which is up 161%. In recent years past, there have been at least a couple stocks up more than 200% at this point in the year, but not this year. What is similar to recent years past is the sector makeup of the top performers. As you can see, 10 of the 12 best performing stocks year-to-date are Biotech (IBB)/Health Care (XLV) names.

The most well-known name on the list of 2015’s winners is Netflix (NFLX), with its gain of 81.51%. GoPro chip-maker Ambarella (AMBA) is another notable name with a YTD gain of 79.7%.

It gets repetitive to see a bunch of Biotech names all the time, so below is a list of the best performing non-Health Care names in the Russell 3,000 year-to-date. Radio One (ROIAK) tops the list with a gain of 138%, followed by Multi-Fineline Electronix (MFLX), Cyan (CYNI), Ebix (EBIX) and Conn’s (CONN). Other notables on the list include Netflix (NFLX), Ambarella (AMBA), Glu Mobile (GLUU), Smith & Wesson (SWHC), Cirrus (CRUS) and FireEye (FEYE).
