Stock market's spring awakening – ETF Trader – MarketWatch

In a data-lite week, the hinge the market swung on the most was Janet Yellen’s scheduled speech before Congress’ Joint Economic Committee. The Fed chairwoman’s remarks were carefully prepared to not say or suggest anything that would surprise the domestic and global markets.

But Yellen wasn’t shy about supporting her view that our recovery remains on track: “With the harsh winter behind us, many recent indicators suggest that a rebound in spending and production is already under way, putting the overall economy on track for solid growth in the current quarter”.
