In case you were paying too much attention to the crises in Ukraine or Venezuela, President Obama went on Zach Galifianakis’ internet show, “Between Two Ferns,” to push Obamacare.

The president’s appearance on the show is part of a larger PR push that the Obama administration is conducting leading up to the March 31 open enrollment deadline. Reports from the White House say that the president’s appearance on “Between Two Ferns” was a success and drove 32,000 visits to Healthcare.gov that day. But has the push changed the sentiment surrounding Obamacare on social media?

We looked at how the sentiment surrounding Obamacare was doing before the president’s appearance on “Between Two Ferns” on March 11. From March 1 through March 10, sentiment surrounding Obamacare was close, with 46% of relevant posts opposing the law while 40% of posts supported it.

We then looked at sentiment following his appearance on the show and saw a major jump in opposition. Of the 644,266 relevant posts, 54% of the posts were opposed to the law while support dropped to 25%.

As you can see, those in opposition to the law are very vocal on social media and will continue to use these platforms leading up to the 2014 mid-term elections. The president and his team have an uphill battle to not only convince people to sign up for Obamacare, but also to change the narrative on social media.

What are your thoughts on the president’s Obamacare push? Do you think Obamacare sentiment will turn around over the next few weeks? Tweet your thoughts to @BankruptingAm and let us know.
